My career has ranged from visual effects and animation in Los Angeles, CA to public policy research in Washington, DC. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, photography, reading, writing, and cooking. Matthew Wilson, Illustrator & Animator
My career in animation began in early 1991, at the young age of 17 when I was taken under the personal direction of the classic Walt Disney trained animator, John Ewing, who was himself trained by the nine old men of Disney. I gained a solid foundation in the classic traditions passed down by the forefathers of the art. I have worked as an animator on both Warner Brothers and Disney TV series, such as Steven Spielberg’s Tiny Toons and Animaniacs, Disney’s Timon and Pumbaa, Hercules and Duck Daze to name a few.

As soon as I could hold a crayon in my hand, I began my endless journey with art. From art classes at an early age to a Bachelor’s in Arts in Fine Art, my love for art has never subsided. After college, I spent 15 years as a digital artist and during that time, started my own company, Sunshine Creative Studios, as an outlet for expressing my passion for creating children’s art. This wonderful opportunity with Pumpkinheads™ has now given me the chance to fulfill one of my lifelong desires… to illustrate children’s books!
